Once again, last Saturday ( July 8th) proved an enjoyable afternoon at David and Gillian Lloyd’s fine location. Whilst the weather was by no means perfect, and we were visited by a fierce storm of rain, umbrellas and the pergolas kept the worst off. Happily, most of the time the weather was kind.
Our cooks kept everyone happy with burgers, chicken and sausages, supplemented by salads, quiches and slaw provided by family members. This was followed by an excellent choice of sweets to finish.
The side attractions created interest and the chinese auction, ably manned by David and Janice Churm, was a popular visit for everyone, with many fine gifts on offer.
Without the help of members, too many to mention, the event would not have taken place and grateful thanks was expressed to all by our W.Master for the support given on this annual occasion.
Rumour has it that our Treasurer went home happy. After he had done his sums, it turns out, very happy.
